Create Interactive Quiz With Scoring In Powerpoint 365

You can create interactive quizzes and games with PowerPoint. Now of course there is software out there dedicated to creating this type of application, but before you purchase one of those solutions, why not try PowerPoint?

Hyperlinks work in PowerPoint. You can create links to Internet pages, files on your computer, and even slides within your presentation. The latter is what we’ll be doing to make our quiz.

Before you start designing your quiz, you’ll need to have an idea of who your users are and what you want them to get out of their experience with your application. Will they learn something? Will they have fun? Maybe both.

If you’re an instructor, you might consider making this type of quiz creation an assignment for your students.

  • Interactive Quiz. Go interactive today with your PowerPoint and become a superhero. Designed for every teacher. Compatible with Windows 7/8/10 & Office 2013/2016/2019/365. Native integration. ClassPoint is built into PowerPoint so you don’t need to leave your favourite teaching platform. Powerful features.
  • Interactive Quiz Competitions. Test your audience's knowledge in live Quiz competitions! Set a correct answer and the fastest participant who chooses the right answer wins. Perfect for trivia nights, 'Who wants to be a Millionaire' games, student competitions and checking what attendees can remember at the end of your workshop.
  • When autocomplete results are available use up and down arrows to review and enter to select. Touch device users, explore by touch or with swipe gestures.

Once you have some goals in mind, you’ll need some questions and answers. I created a short true or false quiz about geography so I could write this post. These are my quest ions.

The Animated Quiz Tabs PowerPoint Template is an interactive template that comes with 10 slides that contain various layouts for creating an interactive slide deck consisting of one or more quizzes. You can use the sample slides for creating multiple choice quizzes using interactive buttons. Go to Presenter Media – Quiz Tabs PowerPoint Template.

True or False

  1. Helena is the capital of Montana.
  2. The Nile is a river in South America.
  3. This flag is the flag of Botswana. (Image of flag appears on slide.)
  4. Alaska became a state in 1922.
  5. The clock “Big Ben” is located in Toronto.

So there’s a slide for each question, and a “Correct” and “Incorrect” result slide for each question. That’s 15 slides. There is also a title slide to start the quiz.

There’s a bit of logic you have to work out to make your quiz run successfully. Try making a flow chart of how things should go. Here’s a sample:

This one was simple, but yours can be as complex as you like.

Here’s a run-down of my process.

Interactive
  1. I made a first slide with the name of the quiz and a Click Here to Start Quiz button.
  2. The second slide had the first question and a True and False button.
  3. If the user clicks True for this question he gets the Correct! Helena is the capital of Montana slide. This slide also has a Go to question 2 button.
  4. If the user clicks False for this question, he gets the Wrong answer! slide. This slide also has a Go to question 2 button.

All the buttons are simply hyperlinks to another slide in the presentation. To add a hyperlink, right-click the object you’re using as the button (text boxes in this case), and select hyperlink.

Then choose the slide you want to link to.

My last Correct and Wrong answer! slides give the user an option to start the quiz again or to exit. You can use an Action Button to allow the user to exit the slide show with a click. Action Buttons are at the bottom of the Shape Tools menu. Select Action Button: Custom, draw a button, select the hyperlink radio button, and choose a link option.

Make sure Advance Slide Automatically is selected. Use “Buttons” or “Click Boxes” to link from slide to slide.

Publish your Captivate file as a .swf with and export to .html.

That’s how I do it. You may prefer a different method. To find more ways, do an Internet search on “PowerPoint interactive quiz”. Happy quiz making!

Spring break is just around the corner, and many people are thinking about time off and travel, but it’s also the time of year when students and teachers put pen to paper (or ink to printer) to test just how much information has been passed along in class.

This multiple-choice test offers something a bit different from other versions. You can add test sections and 3, 4, or 5-answer questions from the template Quick Parts, as many as you need:

Quick Parts are pretty easy to create for a document. In fact, I’ll go ahead and post some steps on how to do it.

This post is a revised version of a popular post that appeared on our former Templates blog. Search office.com for more free test and survey templates.

How to Create a Table of Contents in Word 2016 for Mac Step 1: Add Styles to Your Document. Step 2: Create a Table of Contents. Step 3: Automatically Update Your Table of Contents. In Office 2011 for Mac, Word features a fast, new way to make a Table of Contents (TOC). If you’ve been using Heading styles throughout your document, the process is entirely automatic. Choose to make a Table of Contents automatically; otherwise, select the Manual Formatting option. To quickly insert a table, click Insert Table and move the cursor over the grid until you highlight the number of columns and rows you want. Click and the table appears in the document. If you need to make adjustments, you can Add or delete rows or columns in a table in Word or PowerPoint for Mac or merge cells. 1 Create a separate page for the TOC by pressing Ctrl +Enter to insert a page break. You can also insert a page break by selecting the Page Break command from the Pages group on the Insert tab. 2 Click the mouse to place the insertion pointer on the new, blank page. Create the table of contents. Word uses the headings in your document to build an automatic table of contents that can be updated when you change the heading text, sequence, or level. Click where you want to insert the table of contents – usually near the beginning of a document. Create table of contents in word for mac.
